    Whereas the annual budget process is a critical component of municipal governance, requiring transparency, accessibility, and engagement;

    And Whereas Council Chambers is equipped with the necessary infrastructure to facilitate public attendance, livestreaming, recording, and archiving of meetings for the benefit of residents;

    And Whereas holding budget committee meetings in Council Chambers promotes openness and reinforces public trust in the budget deliberation process;

    Therefore Be It Resolved that all 2026 Budget Committee meetings be scheduled and conducted in Council Chambers.

    And Further That appropriate arrangements be made to ensure the meetings are accessible to the public both in person and via live broadcast, consistent with regular Council meeting practices.

    Whereas numerous motions have been referred to various committees by the current Council for further review, discussion, or recommendation;

    And Whereas there is a need for accountability and transparency regarding the status and progress of these referred items;

    And Whereas timely consideration of these motions is essential to the effective governance and decision-making of Council.

    Therefore Be it Resolved that staff be directed to compile a comprehensive list of all motions moved to committee by the current Council, including their status and the date they were referred.

    And Further that staff provide a proposed schedule for the consideration of each outstanding motion, to be brought forward to Council within 60 days for review and prioritization.
